The defined outlooks for the country’s steel industry are varied and different. Based on the planning and issued permits for steel production, it is predicted that the development of the country’s steel industry, based on producing 55 million tons of crude steel and exporting 10 million tons of steel products, will achieve this capacity by the year 1404 (2025). But is it really possible to produce this amount of steel in the year 1404? The main obstacles to achieving this capacity can be considered the following factors:
Lack of proper planning and absence of a single custodian in this industry
Lack of suitable infrastructure
Lack of necessary financial resources for the industry
Inadequate foundational facilities
Insufficient growth of upstream and downstream steel industries
Internal laws and regulations and obstacles to domestic investment
Presence of powerful competitors in the regional and global markets
Disregard for the optimal scale of production in the steel industry
Export of raw materials and import of dependent final goods
Low productivity and lack of competitiveness in the steel industry
